A Star-Studded Week for Nottingham Busted vs McFly and John Bishop return to the city

Busted, McFly and John Bishop treated thousands of fans to sell-out shows this week at the Nottingham Arena, with all three acts also joining the Arena’s newly launched Golden Arrow Club, an accolade recognising artists who have performed at the venue ten times or more.
Busted and McFly were presented with their Golden Arrow Award by Hollie Marron, Motorpoint Arena Nottingham Head of Programming, with Dougie Poynter from McFly embracing his theatrical side by dressing up as Nottingham legend Robin Hood on the Arena stage.
The excitement didn’t stop there as last night comedy legend John Bishop celebrated 25 years of stand-up comedy with his anniversary show, in the year which is also the Arena’s 25th anniversary.  The Liverpudlian comic was presented with his Golden Arrow by Martin Ingham, Chief Executive of Motorpoint Arena Nottingham, with Bishop then taking his award on stage to share with his audience in what was his fifteenth show at the venue.
Martin Ingham said: “It’s been an incredible week at the Arena, welcoming some of the nation’s best-loved talent to Nottingham. Busted vs McFly thrilled thousands of fans with their energy and showmanship, and John Bishop’s milestone comedy performance was a perfect way to celebrate our 25th anniversary. We’re proud to bring this entertainment and enjoyment to the city and create memorable experiences for our audiences.”
The week reflects what is set to be a record-breaking year for the Arena, with the highest number of events planned in the Arena’s 25-year history. From pop to rock, comedy to sport, Motorpoint Arena Nottingham has something for everyone in the run-up to Christmas, with unmissable shows including Duran Duran, four shows by Peter Kay, Panthers ice hockey and WWE Road to Royal Rumble… and the return of Busted vs McFly for their final night of the tour on the 8th November.
Hollie Marron, Head of Programming, added: “The Golden Arrow Club is a way for us to celebrate the artists who have become part of the Arena’s story over the years. Busted vs McFly have delighted Nottingham audiences time and again, and it was fantastic to present them with their award before they once again performed to so many fans.”
