Bid Marks Strong 2025 Training Uptake and Unveils Bold Plans for 2026

NORTH NOTTS BID is celebrating a successful year of professional development in 2025, with hundreds of BID members enhancing their skills through an expanded programme of training, workshops and business support opportunities.

Through SEEDL, one of the BID’s online learning platform partners, 254 individuals enrolled onto courses throughout the year, accessing an impressive 278 on-demand training sessions. The most popular course of 2025 was Food Hygiene Safety – Level 2, reflecting strong engagement from hospitality and food-related businesses across the district to upskill their staff.

In addition to digital learning, members have benefitted from a wide range of in-person courses delivered directly by North Notts BID. This included two Fire Marshal training sessions, each supporting 24 members, as well as a Netwalking event in partnership with Barclays attended by 10 members, including Worksop-based Mediright Corporate Healthcare and Retford-based Bassetlaw Action Centre.

Mental health and wellbeing remained a priority, with two First Aid for Mental Health courses delivered to a total of 32 participants. Practical workplace safety training also remained in high demand, with two Emergency First Aid at Work sessions providing vital lifesaving skills for 48 members in total.

Sally Gillborn MBE, chief executive of North Notts BID, said: “We are incredibly proud of the commitment our members have shown to developing their skills throughout 2025. Training is central to creating a stronger, more resilient and more competitive local economy and we look forward to building on this momentum with an even more ambitious programme in 2026 for our BID members.”

North Notts BID also continued to strengthen its partnership with Nottinghamshire Training Group to offer additional sector-relevant courses, ensuring businesses have access to a diverse and adaptable training portfolio. The courses have seen strong early engagement and aim to play a key role in strengthening workforce skills across North Nottinghamshire.

Sally added: “Looking ahead, 2026 will see the continuation of many well-received training opportunities with new dates being released in the new year. We are particularly focused on helping businesses reduce environmental impact and operate more efficiently so we will be introducing a brand-new sustainability-focused Eco Workshop in the new year, with “How to Cut Your Carbon Footprint in 5 Steps” taking place on Wednesday 28 January.”
