Dr Sally Cooke, Research Fellow, Nottingham School of Art & Design at NTU

Sally is a researcher, maker and designer, with research interests in fashion, sustainability, textile craft skills, sustainable clothing practices and participatory research methods. Her PhD, completed in 2024, explored experiences of beginners learning to sew clothes for themselves at home, considered in the context of fashion sustainability.

Since completing her PhD, Sally has been working as a Research Fellow supporting the use of the Fashion Fictions methodology in diverse settings, including leading a 2024 schools pilot project that informed a co-authored Fashion Fictions for Children resource pack for teachers and facilitators.
