Golden Horizons, an East Midlands-based independent film studio, is proud to announce that its debut feature, WallDale, has been nominated in the UK Best Feature Film category at the Liverpool Indie Awards.
Following a successful private premiere at the City Ground stadium in Nottingham, the film continues its festival journey while exploring wider distribution opportunities.
Featuring a talented cast from across the UK, including multiple performers from the Midlands, WallDale blends grounded drama with high-concept science fiction, highlighting both regional and national acting talent.
“Golden Horizons started as a project between two friends and has grown into a studio with a full feature” said Dawid Przebinda, co-founder of Golden Horizons. “We’re proud to see WallDale recognised nationally and can’t wait to share it with audiences across the UK.”
Matthew Cathcart, director of WallDale and co-founder of Golden Horizons added:
“To experience the entire process from start to finish has been surreal. The blood, sweat and many tears that went into WallDale made its premiere incredibly special, and seeing audiences react in real time reminded us why we do this. We’ve set our standards high, and we’re only aiming to raise that bar as we continue growing as filmmakers and as a studio.”
The nomination marks a major milestone for the studio and its first professional feature, reflecting years of dedication and the ambition to bring independent storytelling from the East Midlands to a wider audience.
