Nottingham motorists will be among the first in the UK to view and test‑drive Kia’s much‑anticipated new electric PBV range, as a Chilwell dealership prepares to showcase the vehicles.
The launch marks a significant milestone for Kia, representing the manufacturer’s first dedicated electric van line‑up, which includes the Kia PV5 Cargo and the new 7-seater passenger vehicle.
To celebrate the rollout and showcase the range, NK Motors in Chilwell is hosting an open event on Monday, January 26, from 7.30am until 7.00pm. Visitors will be able to see the vans up close, speak to product specialists and take a test drive.
Simon Murdock of NK Motors said:
“We are so excited to have been chosen as one of the country’s exclusive PBV Van Centres and show the vehicles off at our exclusive event.
“The launch of these versatile vehicles is a major milestone in the continued evolution of the Kia story. As an official Kia franchise dealership, we are proud to be one of the first locations to showcase these new additions to the Kia range. They have been highly anticipated.”
The fully electric models have been designed with both practicality and style in mind, offering cargo and passenger variants. Each vehicle comes with Kia’s 7‑year warranty and an 8‑year battery warranty.
Kia’s cargo van is aimed at commercial users including sole traders, builders, florists, and small businesses, while the passenger version provides generous space for those needing to transport people rather than goods. The cargo model qualifies for a £5,000 government grant, putting the price at £22,645 plus VAT, while the passenger model retails at £31495 including a £1,500 government grant.
Simon said:
“Kia has anticipated the demand for these brand-new electric vehicles and has planned ahead to avoid any significant waiting lists or customer disappointment. Most models are available for immediate delivery.”
NK Motors, which also has showrooms in Pride Park, Derby, and a used car showroom in Long Eaton, employs 120 staff across all businesses. The business has doubled its turnover over the past decade and is forecasting a rise in sales to £100m by the end of the year.
Sanj Kumar, group managing director at NK Motors said:
“Kia’s increasing range of car and van models demonstrates its commitment to innovation and response to customer demand.
“Across Kia’s new model range and great choice of electric vehicles combined with his firm’s constant commitment to improving services for customers.
“As one of Kia’s long‑standing partners, we will continue to expand our partnership with the brand and grow our business to become the number one market leader in EV sales. We look forward to welcoming drivers to our Chilwell showroom this month and sharing details of the latest range of vehicles with them.”
The event will be held at NK Motors, Eldon Road Business Park in Chilwell, Nottingham from 7.30am on Monday, January 26, until close of business on the day at 7.00pm.
Visitors will be welcomed with bacon sandwiches in the morning, afternoon canapés, and prosecco, plus refreshments all day.
