Nottingham’s Broadway Cinema has this month launched a huge prize raffle in which one lucky customer will win free cinema tickets for an entire year.
Broadway’s raffle winner will receive one free cinema ticket per week for a full year, which can be used to see the film of their choice from Broadway’s varied cinema programme – with new films screening each week, and curated seasons and special events throughout the year.
Raffle tickets cost £2.50 each, and all funds raised will help to support Broadway at a challenging time for independent cinemas. Like many similar venues across the country, the city-centre cinema – celebrating its 35th anniversary later this year – is facing rising operating costs, competition from streaming platforms, and the continuing cost of living crisis.
Stewart Terry, Director of Marketing at Broadway Cinema says: “With this being our 35th anniversary, we thought it made perfect sense to give film fans the opportunity to visit us throughout the year for free. There are some huge releases over the coming months from mainstream to independent film, so we expect lots of entries.”
Stewart Terry added: “It can sometimes be forgotten that Broadway is a registered charity, with a mission to inspire a lifelong love of film in the Nottingham community. We hope that this raffle will not only help sustain us during this challenging period, but will also provide the inspiration someone may need to keep returning to the big screen experience.”
Broadway Cinema’s raffle closes on Friday 28 February. Raffle tickets are £2.50 each, and all funds raised will help to sustain Broadway’s future.
