Returning for 2025, the Future Sound of Nottingham gives Nottingham and Nottinghamshire musicians the opportunity to play the iconic main stages of Rock City and Splendour Festival.

This year, eight will play the iconic Rock City main stage.

Those artists are…

  • No Cash Refunds – City Centre
  • Emily Alice – Lenton
  • Megs – City Centre
  • Molly In The Metro – Aspley
  • Louie Walsh – Nuthall
  • Benji Romeo – City Centre
  • Archy & The Astronauts – Radcliffe
  • Saffron Gray – Radford

Meaning the 2025 Final represents multiple different genre families. From UKG, through to big band Indie. Huge pop anthems, to Jazz RNB.

The final takes place at Rock City on Sunday 6th July. Entry is free, no ticket is required. The final scores are decided via a mixture of Industry Professionals scores, plus crowd vote.

So, by showing up in person for your favourite artist, you could help be the tipping point that gets them on to the Splendour main stage.

Two champions will go on to open the main stages of Nottingham Splendour Festival (Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th July) alongside Jake Bugg, Bloc Party, Clean Bandit and more.

Running for over ten years, the Future Sound of Nottingham is organised by local music organisation ‘Nusic’ who are dedicated to helping talented Notts musicians at the start of their career. Sadly they had to end most of their projects in 2022. But thanks to support from Rock City and Splendour Festival, they are able to bring back this opportunity.

FSN’s long and storied 10+ year history has included some of Nottingham’s most exciting artists. Previous FSN Finalists include ALT BLK ERA (who have gone on to win a MOBO, and become arguably the most talked about new band of 2024) Emily Makis (who co-wrote Chase & Status’ ‘Disconnect’ and won DJ Mag’s ‘Best Vocalist’), and Bru-C’s previous band (who has had a UK Top 20 single + international acclaim).
