Thrillseekers Sought For Trent Bridge Zipwire Challange

Thrillseekers are being given the chance to experience the iconic Trent Bridge cricket ground from a new perspective, as the Trent Bridge Community Trust’s Zipwire Challenge returns in September.

Participants will reach speeds of up to 40mph on the 190m-long zipwire, suspended above the outfield at a height of 25m.

Money raised by the daredevils who take part will secure the immediate future of the Trust’s flagship Forget Me Notts initiative for individuals living with Dementia and their carers, as well as the Notts in Mind programme, which supports women’s mental and physical wellbeing.

Those interested in taking part can book their timeslot now, at trentbridge.co.uk/zipwire

“This is a rare opportunity to see our home in a whole new light – and raise much-needed funds to support those in need across the county at the same time,” said Head of Community and Development, Mandy Wright.

“The zipwire challenge is a great experience for cricket lovers and adrenaline junkies alike – but most importantly, it will help us to keep offering vital support to hundreds of Nottinghamshire residents each week.

“Forget Me Notts has quickly evolved into one of our most important programmes; attendees often describe the sessions as the highlight of their week, and it’s great to see the activities we offer for those with Dementia – as well as the respite and peer support for their carers – making such an impact.

“Notts in Mind is a newer initiative, but is already delivering a real impact in terms of helping women of all ages to reach their personal physical and mental health goals – from improving attendees’ moods to, in some cases, improving their mobility to the extent that they can stand or walk for the first time in years.”

Registration for the event costs £50, with further fundraising support provided to help individuals reach a minimum fundraising target of a further £100.

Additional rewards are available for those who raise extra funds:

  • Individuals who raise over £250 will have the chance to win a case of Hardy’s Wine, a luxury deli hamper from Delilah, an Indian meal for two or a family ticket to a fixture in The Hundred at Trent Bridge.
  • Individuals who raise over £500 will have the chance to win hospitality at a Vitality Blast fixture at Trent Bridge in 2026.
  • Teams who raise over £2,500 will be invited to a VIP recognition event at Trent Bridge in 2026.

All who take part will receive a t-shirt, photo and certificate to commemorate their achievement.

The last edition of the Zipwire event, in 2023, raised over £25,000 for the Forget Me Notts programme, while a similar event in 2017 generated £12,000 to support Trust initiatives.
