‘Nottingham Timelapse’ – creative project by a student from Nottingham Trent University

‘Nottingham Timelapse’ is the first book of the illustrative book series ‘Timelapse’ documentation of changing identities of cities in England focusing on city life, urbanization, heritage and built environment.

This is the story of changing identity of Old Market Square which is located in the heart of Nottingham. It covers the journey from being the vibrant traditional market space to becoming the hotspot of public gatherings in today’s time.

Through illustrations this book will take the reader through the chronological changes taking place in this square dating back to the 17th century to the present time. This is an educational book based on the facts with a separate section focusing on the history of visual identity, transportation, public life as well as events which are conducted in the Old Market Square.

How to read this book:

This book reads from back to front. The artist behind the project, Maithili Patankar, would recommend the reader to go to the last page of the book and start reading back to front to experience the overlapping of illustrations.
