This Christmas, Victoria Centre is going cat-tastic! The nation’s favourite feline, Mog, is padding her way through the centre to spread festive cheer (and just a little bit of chaos!) in a heart-warming new trail inspired by Judith Kerr’s much-loved classic, “Mog’s Christmas.”
From 1st December to 5th January, families are invited to step into Mog’s world and follow Mog’s Christmas Trail – a festive and free event exclusively at Victoria Centre, perfect for children and grown-ups alike.
Pick up a free trail map from the Parliament Street entrance, by Urban Outfitters, and join Mog as she watches, while the Thomas family prepares for Christmas. Along the way, participants will discover beautiful handmade installations, interactive story scenes, and stunning photo opportunities inspired by the pages of the much-loved book.
On the trail, visitors will hear Judith Kerr’s daughter bring the story to life through a special audio recording, created for this magical event. Collect all the stamps and crack the secret festive word to be included in the Christmas prize draw to win incredible prizes, including Official Mog merchandise and festive-themed treats!
From 19th December, the iconic story of Mog will be brought to life through live storytelling sessions. Visitors can enjoy these free performances at 11am, 12pm, 1pm and 2pm, located in the South Square alongside Boots, Next and John Lewis on selected dates. Families can also catch “Mog’s Christmas” on the big screen, where visitors can cosy up and watch Mog’s heartwarming festive adventure unfold during the centre’s opening hours. These festive family events are free to attend and no booking is required – the perfect opportunity to make magical memories together this Christmas whilst shopping.
That’s not all! Victoria Centre is brimming with festive fun this season. In addition to the Mog Trail, visitors can expect:
- Gift Wrap Station – Take the stress out of wrapping with our beautiful wrapping service – donations go to Nottinghamshire Hospice and Nottingham West Lions. The charity wrap starts on 13th December – 24th December.
- Giving Box – Help us spread kindness this Christmas by making a toy donation to Cash for Kids.
- Christmas Choirs – Enjoy heart-warming performances from local choirs throughout December, filling the centre with festive tunes.
Nigel Wheatley, Centre Director at Victoria Centre commented: “We’re delighted to bring another exciting experience for families to enjoy this Christmas! Mog is a beloved character, and her story perfectly captures the warmth, humour and occasional chaos that comes with the festive season. Whether families are following the Mog trail, enjoying a live story-time session, or getting their gifts beautifully wrapped for a good cause, we can’t wait to make this Christmas truly special for everyone who visits.”
After helping Mog find her Christmas spirit, visitors can enjoy some retail therapy whilst discovering dazzling gifts and seasonal offers from big-name brands across Victoria Centre. From John Lewis, JD Sports, MINISO, Office, Pandora, Swarovski, Ritual, Whittard and more! With fantastic dining options to choose from, shoppers can refuel with a tasty treat whilst gift shopping across the festive period, with choices including Tortilla, Japami, Thai Express, Starbucks, Birds to name a few.
