Matt Johnson is a Professor of River Science at the University of Nottingham, in the School of Geography. Matt’s research interest is in understanding the interlinkages between hydrological, geomorphological and ecological processes in rivers to inform more successful, and more sustainable, management of freshwaters.

Matt works closely with industrial, charitable and government agencies to inform successful management of rivers, including the production of government and policy reports, infrastructure design, expert opinion and assessment, and the co-production of research outputs.
