Championing Safer Socialising in North Notts: Vote for Your People’s Choice at Best Bar None Awards

HOSPITALITY venues across Bassetlaw that have achieved Best Bar None accreditation and shown excellence for safer socialising will once again be recognised at the 2026 edition of the North Notts Best Bar None Awards.

Hosted by North Notts BID, the awards will take place on Wednesday 22 April at North Notts Arena in Worksop showcasing bars, pubs, restaurants, hotels and leisure venues that demonstrate the highest standards of safety, management and customer care through the Best Bar None accreditation scheme. This year’s celebration will adopt a carnival and masquerade theme, bringing a colourful and vibrant atmosphere to the evening.

Entries are now open until 1pm on Friday 10 April for the public to vote for their People’s Choice from accredited venues, with further category winners selected by an esteemed judging panel, including the evening’s top honour: Best Bar None Champion.

Best Bar None assesses businesses that sell alcohol against several key areas including venue management, staff training and care, customer safety and welfare, as well as customer service and community support.

Sally Gillborn MBE, chief executive at North Notts BID, said:

“As part of our commitment to ensuring venues provide a high-quality and safe hospitality environment for both staff and customers, we are proud to celebrate, for the third-year running, the Best Bar None accredited businesses that go above and beyond across the district.”

Hospitality venues across the district have completed their accreditation assessment for 2026, with businesses completing their re-accreditation including The Elms Hotel, North Notts Arena, Kilton Forest Golf Club and The Lion Hotel.

New businesses joining the scheme include Amor Cocktail Bar, Clumber Park Lodges and The Bull & Lobster along with voluntary BID member The Brindley Bar & Restaurant. All accredited venues will be invited to attend the awards ceremony, which will recognise outstanding achievements across a range of categories.

Sally added:

“We continue to see strong engagement from hospitality venues across the district, whether they are securing their first accreditation or renewing their status. The awards evening is a fantastic opportunity to recognise the dedication of those venues that work hard to maintain the highest experience for visitors and local residents alike.”
