New board member announced for Inspire Culture, Learning and Libraries

Inspire Culture, Learning and Libraries is thrilled to announce the appointment of a new  board member, Ruth Hyde.

Created by Nottinghamshire County Council in 2016, Inspire was established to bring together libraries, adult and community learning, music, culture, heritage, and arts under one innovative organisation. Ten years on, it has grown into a nationally recognised service, delivering thousands of events, courses and activities each year and supporting residents of all ages to read, learn, create and connect.

As a former Chief Executive at Broxtowe Borough Council, Ruth brings a wealth of valuable professional and personal experience to the board, strengthening the organisation’s leadership, and supporting Inspire’s commitment to deliver culture, learning and libraries for all.

Ruth will work alongside the Inspire board to help shape Inspire’s strategic direction, providing expertise and guidance on key priorities whilst upholding the organisations values and charitable objectives.

Peter Gaw, INSPIRE, Chief Executive said:

“I am delighted that Ruth is joining us as a co-opted member of our board.  Ruth’s experience, insight and commitment to public service will be an asset to the board as we look to the future and changing landscape for local government across Nottinghamshire. The appointment further strengthens our governance and brings valuable perspective as we work to ensure our communities remain at the heart of what we do.”

Ruth Hyde, INSPIRE Board Member said:

“I am delighted to be invited to join the board of Inspire, which does such great work in enriching the lives of the residents of Nottinghamshire through access to arts, culture, heritage and library services. These are such important services and mean a lot to children and adults. I look forward immensely to being involved.”
