New Nottingham Wellness Clinic Launches First of its Kind in the UK

The UK’s first clinic of its kind dedicated to weight loss has officially opened in Nottingham, marked by a celebratory launch event attended by local VIPs and leading wellness experts. As the business sets a new benchmark for personalised care, the occasion signals an important step forward for the future of integrated health.

With reports suggesting that more than 1.5 million people in the UK are now using GLP-1 weight loss drugs like Wegovy and Mounjaro, there is a growing need for wider and ongoing support both during and after its use.

The doctor-led clinic, Shape⁸, on Radcliffe Road, West Bridgford, will be supporting customers from across the Midlands. Hosting an evening of celebrations, the business marked the introduction of its holistic offering aimed at complementing patients on their weight-loss journey.

Founded by sisters Mandy, Sandy and Saminda Sangha, Shape⁸’s opening marked the first step in the business’s mission to share the importance of incorporating nutrition, exercise, emotional well-being, and lifestyle habits with medication use.

Co-Founder Mandy Sangha said,

“We are delighted that everyone could join us to share this defining milestone, supporting local business collaboration. Nottingham is our home city, which makes it the perfect location for our first in-person clinic, offering a regulated, trusted and safe approach to wellbeing and medication use.

“The evening allowed us to set out our mission, sharing our founding story and ambition within the weight loss community. Not only did we unveil our brand-new clinic, but we also offered an insight into the future of our offering by introducing our Shape⁸ Together forums.”

The event introduced guests to the new two-story stand-alone clinic, which boasts three treatment rooms and a large meeting space. Alongside this, the team announced the new GLP-1 Shape⁸ Together forums, which have been created to provide a safe and supportive space for those on their weight loss journey.

Dr Kamran Amjed, Clinical Lead at Shape⁸ added:

“The ethos behind Shape⁸ is what really stands out for me. This isn’t about trends or shortcuts, it’s about creating a space genuinely focused on health, wellbeing, longevity and giving people the tools and support they need to become the best versions of themselves. What started as a shared vision has now, I’m pleased to say, become reality with a focus centred on helping people take control of their health, improve their wellbeing and ultimately live longer, healthier and happier lives.

“A lot of people say they’re going to do things within the healthcare and wellbeing space, but it takes something special to actually make it happen. Alongside the sisters, our pharmacy team have been instrumental in ensuring everything we do is built and grounded around clinical safety, professionalism and client care. Shape⁸ isn’t simply about weight loss and quick fixes, it’s about health optimisation.”

Alongside the Shape⁸ Together in person forums, the business is also hosting regular wellness days, providing the perfect space for education, awareness and support for those navigating their medicated weight loss journey. Partnering with leading collagen, electrolyte and supplement brands, plus several local wellness businesses covering fitness, nutrition, style and coaching, the Shape⁸ team is focused on bringing high-quality wellness solutions to its clients.

Marking this latest milestone, the initially online provision from Shape⁸ has been developed from Mandy’s personal experience with weight loss and GLP-1s alongside Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS). Rooted in genuine experience, the clinic will aim to support those navigating medicated weight loss with long-term support and wider care.
