Members of the team from Nottinghamshire bus operator, Stagecoach East Midlands, have enjoyed an open-top bus celebration to mark their recognition as the best performing operating company for the UK’s biggest bus operator.
Stagecoach Group is made up of 18 operating companies, employing over 25,000 people and connecting passengers in over 100 towns and cities across the country, from Cornwall to the Orkneys. From all these companies, Stagecoach East Midlands has been named as Number One for its performance across a range of factors, this year.
Indeed, Grimsby Depot was named as the top performer amongst all of Stagecoach’s 115 depots.
Across Stagecoach East Midlands, year-on-year improvements have been delivered in areas such as punctuality, which has improved by 4%, non-operated journeys which have reduced by 29% (internal causes down by 60%), and avoidable accidents, which have reduced by 8%.
Moreover, employee injuries have been reduced by 25%, staff turnover by 25%, and staff sickness reduced by 11%. All this has been achieved during a time of continued growth and the introduction of new services.

So, coming out on top is only possible because of the huge efforts put in by the team, to give the region a bus service to be proud of. Of course, this result only inspires us to want to do even better next year – as we intend to stay at the top!”
