Renowned Royal Geographical Society Photography Exhibition Comes to Belvoir

Belvoir Castle in Leicestershire has been specially selected to showcase the shortlisted images from the world-leading international Earth Photo exhibition this summer.

Organised by the Royal Geographical Society each year and now a world leading international programme, Earth Photo engages with still and moving image makers, across all genres to address current environmental and climate issues affecting our planet.

The powerful and thought-provoking photographic exhibition will be artfully exhibited throughout Belvoir Castles formal gardens and open from 20 July until 25 August.  Since its founding in 2018 by Forestry England, Parker Harris and the Royal Geographical Society, it has become one of the UK’s most inspiring platforms for visual storytelling.

Set along the Spiral Walk, the exhibition is fully accessible by buggy and wheelchair, and makes for a wonderful addition to your visit – whether you’re exploring the gardens for the first time or returning for the season.

The exhibition includes 16 photographs by photographers from across the world. The images featured highlight defining environmental and political stories of our time, from plants reclaiming deserted spaces to salmon farms at ecological breaking point.

Located in the heart of the East Midlands, Belvoir Castle draws thousands of visitors each year to explore the castle’s history and experience the tranquillity of the vast grounds and gardens. Belvoir Castle holds events and tours throughout the year, including bespoke tours of the castle’s unique fine art collection.

Eleanor Melville, marketing manager at Belvoir Castle said: “We are so excited to be one of only a handful of venues chosen to showcase the Earth Photo exhibition. The images all have the power to change hearts and minds and we have no doubt that our visitors will doubt that visitors will be deeply moved by what they see.”

Tickets for the exhibition are included in tickets for the grounds and gardens. Prices begin at £10 for adults and £6 for children, with discounts available for concessions.

Belvoir Castle’s Family Saver ticket is the easiest way to get the best value tickets.
