The shortlist for the Visit East Midlands Tourism Awards – Nottinghamshire has been revealed, shining a spotlight on some of the outstanding tourism and hospitality businesses helping to make the region a leading visitor destination.
Following a strong response of over 100 applications to this year’s awards, finalists have been announced across 14 categories, recognising excellence in accommodation, attractions, food and drink and visitor experiences, as well as the passionate people working in the area’s tourism industry.
Delivered by Visit Nottinghamshire, the VisitEngland-accredited Local Visitor Economy Partnership, the awards celebrate excellence, innovation, sustainability and outstanding customer experiences across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire’s £2.53 billion visitor economy.
The awards form part of the Visit East Midlands Tourism Awards programme, which brings together the established tourism awards programmes for Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire under a shared regional banner, showcasing the breadth and quality of tourism across the East Midlands.
Finalists will now progress to the final round of independent judging, including a series of mystery visits to help determine the winners. Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire finalists will come together at the Visit East Midlands Tourism Awards Ceremony on 10 March 2027 at Crowne Plaza Nottingham, when the winners will be announced.
Gold winners in eligible categories will have the opportunity to represent the region at the VisitEngland Awards for Excellence, competing for some of the highest accolades in English tourism.
Megan Powell Vreeswijk, CEO of Marketing Nottingham & Nottinghamshire including Visit Nottinghamshire, said: “It’s fantastic to see such a strong shortlist of tourism and hospitality businesses from across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire recognised in this year’s awards. Our visitor economy is built on the passion and dedication of the people and organisations who work hard every day to deliver memorable experiences for visitors, and these awards are an opportunity to celebrate their achievements.
“Tourism is vital to our local economy, contributing £2.53 billion and supporting businesses and over 22,500 jobs across the county. The quality and diversity of this year’s finalists demonstrate the strength of our visitor offer, from our heritage attractions and outstanding places to stay to our food and drink, unique experiences and commitment to more sustainable and inclusive tourism.
As we bring Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire together under the Visit East Midlands banner, we have an exciting opportunity to showcase the very best of our region, raise its profile and inspire even more people to visit, stay longer and return. Congratulations to all our finalists, and we look forward to celebrating with them in March.”
Mayor of the East Midlands, Claire Ward, said: “These awards are a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the people, businesses and organisations that make the East Midlands such a special place to visit. From our vibrant cities and market towns to our stunning countryside and world-class attractions our visitor economy plays a vital role in supporting jobs, businesses and local communities across the region.
“I am proud of the passion, creativity and dedication shown by those working in tourism and hospitality, and these awards shine a spotlight on their achievements. The East Midlands has so much to offer, and by recognising the very best of our visitor economy, we can continue to showcase our region to more visitors and help put the East Midlands firmly on the map.
Congratulations to all those shortlisted and nominated”
