Beeston and District Civic Society has announced its 2026–27 AUDIENCE talks programme, bringing expert speakers and local organisations to Beeston for a series of free public events exploring heritage, transport, climate change, the environment and community action.
The programme begins on 14 October 2026 with landscape architect Chryse Tinsley discussing listed buildings and Beeston’s developing Local Heritage List. Future speakers include East Midlands Mayor Claire Ward on regional transport, Broxtowe Tree Officer Jakob Doran during National Tree Week, EMCCA’s Michael Gallagheron climate resilience, and University of Nottingham academic Emily O’Donnell on flooding and climate challenges.
The series also celebrates local volunteering, with a panel featuring organisations including The Plane Tree, Pulp Friction, Boomerang Bags and Beeston Repair Café, before concluding with Friends of Beeston Station sharing the story of their award-winning work caring for the town’s historic railway station.
All talks take place at the Royal British Legion, Hall Croft, Beeston, starting at 7pm. Entry is free for Beeston Civic Society members, with donations welcomed from non-members.
