Belvoir Castle to Deck the Halls for its Christmas Opening

Opulent decorations and festive magic await visitors of Belvoir Castle this November, as super early bird tickets for the castle’s highly anticipated Christmas experience are launched for sale.

One of England’s most treasured historic homes, Belvoir Castle, will be transformed into the most beautiful version of a Christmas carol as it opens its doors from Saturday 14 November to Wednesday 30 December. Belvoir Castle sits on the borders of Leicestershire, Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire, in the heart of the beautiful English countryside.

Live musical performances from choirs and musicians will greet visitors as they arrive in the impressive Castle entrance, bringing a truly festive atmosphere to its theme of Deck the Halls – transforming the historic castle, which is nestled above the rolling Vale of Belvoir, into a celebration of classic Christmas grandeur. Each magnificent State Room will be uniquely styled and decorated with a nod to different beloved Christmas carols.

The Belvoir Christmas experience will have something for every generation, including a magical Santa’s Grotto, a Search for Santa experience and a Christmas Mice Trail which takes families through the Castle searching for clues, with a prize waiting at the end. The Christmas Wishing Tree is also back by popular demand and this year there will also be a Christmas Bauble Shop installed the Castle’s stunning Ballroom.

An impressive Belvoir Castle gingerbread installation will also be on display. Created by award winning cake and sugar artist, Michelle Walters, the four-foot-wide confectionary replica was first unveiled last Christmas will return with new features capturing Christmas at the Castle.

New for this year, visitors will have the opportunity to experience Belvoir Castle by candlelight at a series of intimate evening events, featuring live music, as well as a glass of sparkling wine from the Belvoir Estate’s own vineyards. This rare opportunity to witness the Castle at its most tranquil and magical time offers a memorable addition to the festive season.

After marvelling at the stunning Castle and exploring the tranquil winter gardens, visitors will have the chance to enjoy sumptuous refreshments including delicious festive afternoon tea in the Castle’s beautiful Aviary tearoom.

Beyond the Castle, the Retail Village is home to a carefully curated collection of boutique shops and a restaurant, the village offers the perfect opportunity to discover thoughtful Christmas gifts and festive treats.

The Belvoir Farm Shop will also be stocked with an array of Christmas goodies and luxury hampers, featuring produce grown and sourced from across the Belvoir Estate, including Belvoir Wine and Rare Breed meats, perfect for those special festive meals with the family.
