Representatives from five organisations based throughout Bassetlaw have been appointed to the North Notts BID Board in order to bolster operations as the BID commences its second term following a majority ‘YES’ vote at ballot in June.
Operating the second largest BID in the UK, the private sector board is responsible for overseeing the finances, governance, decision-making and delivery of North Notts BID projects alongside two observers from Retford and Worksop Business Forums.
Two of the key board appointments will strengthen the BID’s representation of Worksop businesses: Rob Holder, National Trust general manager at Clumber Park and Mr Straw’s House and Dr John Price, headmaster at Worksop College.
George Buchanan, chair of the North Notts BID board, said:
“We were overwhelmed by the response to our call for new board members. Many business owners in North Nottinghamshire care deeply about the wider business community as well as their own organisations. They recognise the importance of coming together following the pandemic and as the cost-of-living bites.
“As a business-led, business managed venture, these latest appointments will help aid the fantastic initiatives we have laid out across our second term, with commitments to boost business resilience, improve education and ensure green targets are hit in our region. Other board appointments include Kyle Byrne, manager at The Dominie Cross pub in Retford and Richard South, managing director at South Electrical based in Harworth. James McCrea, chief operating officer at Blyth-based fresh dog food manufacturer Butternut Box, rounds up the latest set of recruits.
“As a business in Blyth on the edge of the district, this is a fantastic opportunity for me to represent local businesses and ensure the BID’s brilliant array of services continue to be accessible across the whole district.”
