Mark has 30 years of manufacturing & leadership experience in the High-Tech Electronics industry, initially with corporate giants GEC Plessey & Siemens and until March 2019 as co-founder/owner of SMS Electronics – a successful, Hi-Tech manufacturing company and prestigious Queens Award for Enterprise winner in 2012, which is the highest accolade that can be awarded to a UK business.
Mark sold his interest in SMS Electronics in March 19 enabling him to continue his work in giving back to the manufacturing sector within the Midlands region. Mark is Chairman of the Nottinghamshire Manufacturing Network, which was established in 2013 to champion the strength and diversity of Manufacturers from the City and County. He also sits on a number of regional and local advisory boards supporting the manufacturing sector as well as several Non-Executive director roles. Mark also provides specialist consultancy drawing upon his sectorial and international trade expertise.
Mark is also trustee on charitable organisations in Nottinghamshire such as the Nottingham Community Foundation (NCF) and The Karen Green Foundation. He has recently joined the Community Engagement Board of the Army Cadet Force in Nottinghamshire. Mark was commissioned as a Deputy Lieutenant for Nottinghamshire in 2016 for his contribution to business and his community.
