Christmas at Wollaton: safety first

Nottingham’s first festive outdoor installation, due to open on Friday 27 November, will now open on Friday 4 December – due to the national lockdown announced this week. 

Nottingham’s Wollaton Hall & Deer Park in being transformed into an enchanted light experience to create Christmas at Wollaton Hall – a unique socially distanced festive outdoor light installation.

Anyone who has previously purchased tickets from 27 November to 3 December are being contacted shortly and offered the opportunity to book an alternative slot or a full refund.

The multi-sensory experience of light, fire and sound puts a contemporary twist on the classic seasonal tradition. To ensure safety for all visitors Christmas at Wollaton has pre-bookable slots staggered every 30 minutes for the event. 

With safety a primary concern for everyone, Christmas at Wollaton has also been granted the use of Society Of London Theatre & UK Theatre’s ‘See It Safely‘ mark.  The mark certifies that the event is compliant with the latest Government and industry COVID-19 guidelines, to ensure the safety of all visitors. 

Organisers commented “We’re disappointed that we’ve had to move our opening dates, but the safety of visitors is the utmost priority.  Since the announcement of the national lockdown tickets sales have continued to increase and it appears that people really want a safe festive event to look forward to.”   

Organisers Kilimanjaro are committed to delivering a really safe event for all. Measures include careful planning of the route to manage visitor flow, ensuring that social distancing can be safely maintained throughout as well as contactless payments and e-ticket access.

This unique new event features an illuminated trail of discovery created with four magical lands, specially designed to fit into the natural landscape of the Hall and Gardens.  

The event runs until 6 January 2021.  e-Tickets are priced at *£17.50 for an adult and *£12.50 for children. Family tickets are *£59.50. *subject to a booking fee. 

Nottingham City Council taxpayers can enjoy a 10% saving on tickets throughout December and the first week of January, subject to availability, all that is required is an 8-digit council tax booking reference.
