Christmas Campaign Set to Attract More Overnight Stays and Day Visitors to Nottingham and Nottinghamshire

The Visit Nottinghamshire Christmas giveaway campaign makes its return with a stellar line up of prizes from local visitor economy businesses to be won.

This Christmas Visit Nottinghamshire will be running two different competitions in collaboration with local businesses and partners. The first will see the return of their 12 days of Christmas giveaway where a different prize from local businesses will be given away every day during the first 12 days of December.

Nottingham and Nottinghamshire have stories worth telling, home to inspirational and rebellious characters, heroes and pioneers it’s where visitors can follow in the footsteps of Robin Hood, Lord Byron, Eric Irons and Ada Lovelace to name just a few. The second competition will give two families and chance to win an overnight stay and experience our local legends. There are two stay packages up for grabs in partnership with Nottingham Business Improvement District (BID) and Nottinghamshire County Council, one based in Nottingham around the theme ‘City of rebellious champions of social justice’ and the other in Nottinghamshire based around ‘County of inspirational and rebellious characters’.

  • To enter the 12 days of Christmas giveaway those wanting to be in with a chance of winning need to comment on the giveaway post on either Facebook or Twitter on that day.
  • To enter the Christmas stay giveaway competitions, visitors should choose their overnight stay package and fill in their details to be entered into the draw.

Commenting on the giveaway, Marketing and Communications Manager Kinga Kapias said:

“We’re really pleased to be back again this year with another amazing giveaway in partnership with local businesses and partners here in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. In previous years when we’ve run our giveaway competitions they’ve resulted in some great publicity for the region and those businesses involved.

“It’s important that Visit Nottinghamshire continues to support the local visitor economy and businesses with campaigns like this. These giveaways have always generated a lot of excitement and exposure for the region’s visitor economy businesses. Last year’s competitions saw nearly 6,000 entries and reached more than 135,000 people on social media. The average spend per overnight visitor to Nottingham and Nottinghamshire is £194.02 and an average spend per day trip is £38.88 therefore it’s vital we do more to attract those visitors into the region.”
