Autumn Fest will take place in Worksop’s Old Market Square on 30 October.
FAMILIES across Worksop are being invited to enjoy a free day of autumn-themed fun this October half-term as North Notts BID brings Autumn Fest to Worksop’s Old Market Square for a packed programme of creativity, entertainment and family activities.
Taking place on Friday 30 October from 10am to 4pm, the day before Halloween, families can get creative with hands-on autumn activities, including pumpkin painting and making lanterns using seasonal materials and fallen leaves, with the finished creations available to take home.
The day will also celebrate Nottinghamshire’s heritage with the creation of the Robin Hood Community Mosaic, a unique piece of community art inspired by Robin Hood and Sherwood Forest. Families can decorate a wooden leaf or acorn before adding their creation to the giant mosaics, helping to build the artwork together.
Meanwhile, those looking to explore Worksop can take part in the sticker trail, collecting autumn-themed stickers from local businesses along the way. Those who take part and complete the trail will receive a free bag of sweets.
Sally Gillborn MBE, chief executive of North Notts BID, said:
“Autumn Fest is a great opportunity for families to spend time together during half-term while enjoying a range of free activities in the heart of Worksop.”
There will also be plenty of entertainment throughout the day, with an immersive DJ and street dance workshops giving visitors the chance to explore hip-hop through DJing, breakin’, beatboxing and MCing. Free face painting, delivered in partnership with Discover Worksop, will also be available throughout the day.
Sally added:
“From creating autumn crafts and contributing to the Robin Hood Community Mosaic to taking part in music and dance workshops and exploring the sticker trail, there will be plenty for visitors to discover and get involved with throughout the day.
“We hope the event encourages families to visit local businesses and enjoy everything the town has to offer, while celebrating the season’s festivities and our local heritage.”
