Heritage Open Days 2024: Free Cyanotype Workshops at the Framework Knitters Museum

Sunday 15th September 2024, join anytime from 1pm to 4pm

This year as part of Heritage Open Days, the Framework Knitters Museum are offering free drop-in Cyanotype sessions at the museum.  You can join in anytime between 1pm and 4pm on Sunday 15th September to take part in this fun, hands-on activity. Learn how to use this simple alternative photographic process to beautifully capture all manner of textures, textiles and patterns onto paper.

Try layering lace, negatives, or flowers onto the light-sensitive paper, leave it to expose in the sun for a few minutes, then rinse to reveal! All the resources needed will be provided free. Best of all, you can take the print you have made home with you afterwards.

No advance booking is required, and no previous experience is necessary.

Heritage Open Days is England’s largest festival of history and culture; every year, thousands of volunteers and supporters organise events that allow us to discover hidden places and try out new experiences.
