Japan Evening: Live Music and Culture Showcase Coming to Nottingham This July

Nottingham, UK – Otaku World invites audiences to experience Japan Evening, a one-night celebration of Japanese music and culture on Monday, 14 July 2025 at 7:30 PM to 10:30 PM at the Nottingham Arts Theatre. Tickets are still available, priced at just £10–£13, for what promises to be a uniquely intimate and dynamic cultural concert.

Blending traditional Japanese instruments with contemporary sound, the evening features a standout lineup:

● SA‑SHI‑SU, a modern shamisen and cello/electronic duo, perform breathtaking covers of Studio Ghibli and video game soundtracks.

● Aki Kitagawa, a koto performer trained in the Ikuta-ryu style and affiliated with the Sawai Koto Institute, delivers a graceful blend of classical and modern pieces.

● DJ Manimal closes the night with a high-energy fusion of anime opening themes and neo-shamisen beats.

The programme is enhanced by a selection of authentic Japanese snacks and cultural merchandise stalls, all within the welcoming setting of the Nottingham Arts Theatre—a 270-seat venue in the heart of Hockley’s Creative Quarter, known for its balance of community charm and professional production.

Whether you’re a long-time lover of Japanese arts or just curious to explore something new, Japan Evening promises a relaxed, immersive atmosphere where tradition meets innovation.
