The full League fixture list has been revealed along with the news that the Netball Super Cup will head to Nottingham’s Motorpoint Arena for the first time in 2027.
The dates and full fixture list for the 2027 Netball Super League (NSL) and NXT Gen League seasons have been released, with NSL action set to get underway on Saturday 27 February at the Netball Super Cup.
The one-day tournament, designed to give fans the opportunity to watch all eight clubs compete under one roof before the season begins, will head to Nottingham’s Motorpoint Arena for the first time since its inception in 2025. With last year’s Netball Super Cup champions Loughborough Lightning, who missed out on a spot in the 2026 League final, set to defend their title in front of a Midlands crowd and all eight clubs looking for a strong start ahead of their 2027 League campaigns, it’s set to be an unmissable event.
The regular rounds of the NSL will then begin on Friday 5 March as round one gets underway with a blockbuster match-up between reigning champions AO Thunder and three-time champions Loughborough Lightning before Nottingham Forest Netball head to the Motorpoint Arena to take on Birmingham Panthers.
The 2027 season sees the return of double header matches, with four set to take place across the season. Introduced in 2026, double headers provided fans with the opportunity to enjoy not one, but two world-class games of elite domestic netball, driving significant growth in audiences across the 2026 season. In a change for the upcoming season, in response to insight collected since the League’s relaunch and feedback from clubs, athletes and fans, for 2027 the NSL and NXT Gen League will both feature a break over Easter weekend.
The NXT Gen League, which is designed to nurture and develop the next generation of NSL players and deliver opportunities for emerging talent, begins on Saturday 13 February. Throughout the season, NXT Gen matches will continue to act as curtain raisers to NSL games where possible, providing fans with the opportunity to watch additional matches with their ticket and offering the next generation of NSL stars the increased exposure and visibility that comes with the opportunity to compete on the sport’s biggest stages.
Netball Super League Competitions Director, Ian Holloway, said:
“It’s incredibly exciting to reveal our 2027 fixtures as momentum continues to build towards the third season of the new era of the Netball Super League. Over the past two years we’ve made a number of bold changes, and the incredible growth that our League has experienced since has demonstrated the power and potential that we know exists within our sport. In collaboration with our clubs and commercial partners, and backed relentlessly by fans, we’re continuing to provide bigger and better platforms for our inspirational female athletes to perform on, fuelling the growth of the League and ensuring netball remains firmly at the heart of the growth of women’s sport more broadly.
“Before the season gets underway, we’re looking forward to bringing the Netball Super Cup to Nottingham’s Motorpoint Arena for the first time. Kick-starting the 2027 Netball Super League at a venue that has become so synonymous with the sport is an exciting prospect and we can’t wait to see the arena filled with fans proudly and passionately showing up for their favourite players and clubs with the first honours of the season on the line.”
Megan Powell Vreeswijk, CEO, Marketing Nottingham and Nottinghamshire including Visit Nottinghamshire, said:
“We’re delighted to welcome the Netball Super League and this major tournament to Nottingham in February 2027, further strengthening the city’s reputation as a destination for major sporting events.
“Motorpoint Arena provides an outstanding setting for elite netball, right at the heart of the city and within easy reach of our hotels, restaurants, bars, shops and visitor attractions.
“Major sporting events like the Netball Super Cup are hugely valuable to our visitor economy, bringing spectators, teams and supporters to Nottingham and creating additional demand for accommodation, hospitality, retail and leisure businesses. They also give us an opportunity to showcase the city to new audiences, encouraging visitors to explore more of what Nottingham and Nottinghamshire has to offer and return in the future.
We look forward to working with the Netball Super League, Motorpoint Arena and our partners to make the most of this opportunity and give visitors a memorable welcome to Nottingham.”
