Nottingham Celebrates Local Excellence At Inaugural ‘Duckies’ Business Award

The city centre came alive last night as Nottingham’s first-ever Duckies Business Awards honoured the outstanding contributions of local high-street businesses. Hosted by It’s in Nottingham at the historic St Mary’s Church, the black-tie event celebrated winners across 12 categories, recognising the innovation, resilience, and community spirit that define Nottingham’s business landscape.

From independent cafés to national retailers, the awards showcased the diverse talent that keeps Nottingham thriving. Winners were selected by an independent judging panel, ensuring a fair and transparent process.

Alex Flint, CEO of It’s in Nottingham, expressed his pride in the local business community:

“The Duckies are a celebration of the incredible businesses that make Nottingham’s city centre thrive. From independent retailers to national chains, each winner exemplifies the passion and resilience that define our local economy.”

Among the night’s winners was Working Man’s Kitchen, which took home the award for New Business. Owner Paddy Neath shared his excitement:

“We’re honoured to be recognised among so many fantastic businesses. This award is for our amazing team and loyal customers who support us every step of the way.”

● Visitor and Culture Venue: Nottingham Playhouse ● New Business: Working Man’s Kitchen
