Nottingham Tourism Centre launch over 250 brand-new locally made, unique product ranges

Nottingham Tourism Centre have overhauled their retail section with the launch of over 250 brand-new product ranges in a bid to appeal to visitors seeking quintessential Nottinghamshire souvenirs which showcase the county and locals seeking unique and special gifts, as well as supporting local creatives.

Most of the products have been made by local, independent businesses and many have been inspired by Nottingham. The new ranges include environmentally-friendly products with a low carbon footprint, upcycled products and unusual and unique souvenirs and gifts.

The Nottingham-focused products include bright and vividly colourful illustrations of Nottingham landmarks by Jasmin Issaka, a range of Nottingham cityscapes by the award-winning Rawson Photography available as framed prints, canvases, coasters and fridge magnets, and colouring books, pictures and postcards by Lissie Art, including hand-drawn illustrations of the most popular and interesting places in Nottingham, such as the Castle, Robin Hood and Wollaton Hall.

Others have an eco-friendly focus, such as recycled art by Sarah Turner Eco Art and Design. All of Sarah’s work is handmade in her studio in Nottingham from waste materials collected from local homes & businesses, from used aluminium drinks cans to discarded plastic bottles and worn out circuit boards. There’s also a range of upcycled bags, wallets, and jewellery created from bicycle innertubes, alongside striking jewellery created from bike chains by Paguro.

New artisan food products include luxury hand-blended tea by Nottingham family business Snail and Rabbit, and locally produced preserves from Lings Lane Larder; a range of chutneys, jams and marmalades, all handmade with seasonal ingredients.

Ben Rawson, an award-winning retailer and owner of BRIC Consultancy, commented:

“Supporting local businesses and giving them a platform to showcase their products on the high street is important not only to benefit the city’s economy, but its visitors – who can take something unique back for their family and friends – and its residents, who will be able to get that special gift for their loved ones.”

Hilary Wellington, founder of Lings Lane Larder, commented:

“It means so much to me to be part of this fantastic retail space showcasing work by some of the best Nottingham makers. I really love the idea that visitors to the Nottingham Tourism Centre have the opportunity to take a genuinely locally made product home with them.”

Simon Redgate, the Manager of the Nottingham Tourism Centre, said:

“We’re delighted to be working with BRIC Consultancy to offer an extended range of Nottingham inspired souvenirs to our customers. The new range has something for everyone and showcases a selection of the very talented designer/makers Nottingham has to offer – we’re particularly pleased to be able to support a number of eco-friendly businesses who offer sustainable/upcycled products.”

Kinga Kapias, Acting Marketing and Communications Manager at Visit Nottinghamshire, said:

“We anticipate that these wonderful new product ranges will prove a real draw for visitors into the Nottingham Tourism Centre. The prime city centre location of the Tourism Centre, just off Old Market Square, sees a footfall of over 99,000 people a week during these busy summer months, and these charming and unique product ranges are sure to provide ideal gifts and souvenirs for visitors looking for something a little bit special to take home with them.”
