Nottinghamshire-based DropWorks Rum Celebrates Prized Pairing with Fortnum & Mason

Ambitious, independent British rum brand DropWorks Rum, located within Sherwood Forest in Nottinghamshire, is celebrating being listed with one of the world’s most recognised luxury high-end stores, Fortnum & Mason.

The latest listing places award-winning DropWorks alongside some of the most acclaimed brands in food and drink. Fortnum & Mason will initially offer the DropWorks Rum Gift Set, Barrel Drop and the limited-edition Distiller’s Drop #001, with options for both premium spirits drinkers as well as gifting.

As part of the latest partnership, customers will have the chance to sample the rums at Fortnum & Mason’s flagship store at 181 Piccadilly with DropWorks showcasing its distinctive flavour profile and premium positioning at the point of purchase.

Located in the heart of Nottinghamshire’s Sherwood Forest, DropWorks Distillery is the largest of its kind in Europe, with the capacity to produce up to one and a half million bottles of rum a year and up to 10 barrels of rum a day. The distillery houses bespoke copper stills, where its expert team of artisan distillers’ ferment, distil, age, and bottle every drop of rum on site.

Established in 2023 by industry expert Lewis Hayes, DropWorks is proudly created and crafted in Britain to bring high-quality rum centre stage and into the spotlight.

“With our rum crafted and distilled in Britain using quality and natural ingredients, being listed by such a prestigious retailer is a huge achievement,” said DropWorks Rum Founder and Master Distiller Lewis Hayes.

“We are thrilled to be able to extend our brand into a broader and new arena – with even more consumers having the chance to enjoy our bold and distinct rum flavours.”

Already stocked in more than a third of the UK’s top cocktail bars, DropWorks has a core range of five British-made Drops.

Barrel Drop Rum was the first barrel-matured rum produced by the distillery, and the American and Portuguese Oak barrels provide notes of rum and raisin ice cream, jammy dates and warm winter spices. Matured for 17 months in English sweet chestnut wood, Distiller’s Drop #001 was the inaugural release of its highly collectable Distiller’s Drops series.

With layers of praline nuttiness, cherry and brown button richness, it sold out online within 48 hours of launch in November 2025. The Distiller’s Drops explore the distinct flavours that different casks can impart on rum, and they can be enjoyed neat or as part of a modern twist on classic cocktails.

The DropWorks Rum Gift Set is a tasting set offering three 50ml bottles of its most popular rums Clear Drop, Barrel Drop, and Spice Drop.

Lewis added:

“This premium listing comes at a really exciting time in our story. Having successfully launched our first crowdfunding campaign late last year, during which we raised almost half a million pounds, we’ve been able to swiftly accelerate our growth plans and secure stand-out partnerships with brands we’ve always admired and revered, such as Fortnum & Mason. Being proudly stocked by such a recognised British brand pairs perfectly with one of our key drivers – which is to bring quality, delicious rum centre stage with businesses who share our passion for British-made liquid.”

DropWorks is currently stocked at a number of the UK’s top restaurants and bars, including Mildreds, Soma, Plotting Parlour, Ottolenghi, Slowpour and Blinker.

The in-store tasting will take place on:

  • Thursday, May 14, 2026
  • Saturday, June 13, 2026
  • Thursday, June 25, 2026

This latest listing comes as the global craft rum market is projected to grow over 43.76 per cent by 2034.
