Madi Sharma wins The Ian Winslet Award – Mentor of the Year, while Eve Hunt receives the Career Development Excellence Award
LJM Solutions Ltd, a Nottinghamshire-based family business, is proud to announce that two members of its team have been recognised at the 2026 CHIP Awards and Dinner Evening, held at Telford International Centre on Wednesday 3 June 2026.
The annual awards, organised by Communities Housing Investment in People (CHIP) and linked to Communities & Housing Investment Consortium (CHIC), celebrate social value, achievement and the positive impact being delivered across housing, asset management and procurement.
LJM Solutions received two awards on the evening, with Madi Sharma winning The Ian Winslet Award – Mentor of the Year, and Eve Hunt winning the Career Development Excellence Award.
The recognition marks an important moment for LJM Solutions, a rapidly growing family-owned renewable energy and electrical contractor with strong Nottinghamshire connections. As Nottingham Partners and Nottingham Ambassadors, LJM is committed to supporting the region’s economic growth, skills development and transition to more efficient, sustainable energy solutions. LJM Solutions were appointed to the CHIC Retrofit DPS in March, not just because of the company’s commitment to delivering excellence with solar panel installations, but because Social Value is a fundamental part of its business model too.
Eve Hunt’s Career Development Excellence Award reflects LJM’s long-term commitment to apprenticeships, early careers and creating genuine progression routes within the business. Eve joined LJM 18 months ago as an office assistant apprentice and has since progressed rapidly, becoming Marketing Manager and Customer Liaison Officer. She now manages her own marketing budget, contributes to Management Board meetings and is due to begin a Marketing Degree Apprenticeship with Nottingham Trent University in September.
Her development is a strong example of what can happen when young people are trusted, supported and given meaningful responsibility. Almost a quarter of LJM’s team is currently undertaking an apprenticeship, reflecting the company’s belief that investing in people is central to both business growth and community impact.
Madi Sharma’s award recognises her work as a mentor both within and beyond LJM. As Compliance and Social Value Lead, Madi has played a central role in ensuring the family and business values on which LJM was founded remain firmly embedded in the company’s culture, governance and growth. Her mentoring supports apprentices, colleagues, business leaders, women in enterprise, local communities and other SMEs seeking to access retrofit and public sector opportunities.
“We are incredibly proud of Madi and Eve, and of the wider team who help make LJM the kind of business where people can grow, contribute and feel genuinely valued. It is a real honour for LJM Solutions to be recognised at the CHIP Awards, organised by CHIC. These awards reflect the importance of investing in people, supporting apprenticeships and keeping social value at the heart of what we do. As Nottingham Partners and Nottingham Ambassadors, we are also proud to represent a Nottinghamshire-based business that is committed to supporting skills, opportunity and sustainable growth across the region.”
— Lee Lindley, Managing Director, LJM Solutions Ltd
LJM Solutions’ double award success reflects the company’s wider approach to growth as a Nottinghamshire-based business: delivering high-quality renewable energy solutions while creating jobs, supporting apprenticeships, developing careers and ensuring social value remains a practical part of everyday business.
The company will continue to work with partners, clients and communities to make renewable solutions more accessible, while investing in the people who will help shape the future of the sector.
