Individuals from across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire have been recognised in the King’s Birthday Honours 2026 for their outstanding contributions to education, healthcare, community service, business, the environment and charitable fundraising.
The honours celebrate the dedication, leadership and impact of people who have made a significant difference both locally and nationally. From pioneering academics and education leaders to volunteers, healthcare professionals and business figures, the recipients showcase the breadth of talent and commitment found across Nottinghamshire’s communities.
Officers of the Order of the British Empire (OBE)
- Professor Iain Keith Moppett – Professor of Anaesthesia and Perioperative Medicine, University of Nottingham, and Chair, Centre for Research and Improvement, Royal College of Anaesthetists. Recognised for services to Perioperative Care.
- Professor Veronica Moraa Pickering – Lord-Lieutenant of Nottinghamshire. Recognised for Voluntary Service.
- Lisa Clare Pinney MBE – Lately Chief Executive of the Mining Remediation Authority. Recognised for services to the Environment.
- Ashfaq Ahmed Rahman – Chief Executive Officer, Nova Education Trust, Nottingham. Recognised for services to Education.

- Dr Mark Brian Dale – Principal and Chief Executive Officer, Portland College, Nottinghamshire. Recognised for services to Further Education.
