Panthers Legends and Local Community Unite for “Bex’s Battle” Charity Ice Hockey Match at Motorpoint Arena Nottingham

Nottingham, UK — A major charity ice hockey event is coming to Nottingham this February, as the Nottingham Knights host “Bex’s Battle”, a special one-day match raising vital funds and awareness for breast cancer charities Coppafeel! and Breast Cancer Now.

Taking place at the Motorpoint Arena Nottingham on Sunday 8 February 2026, the event will see a Coppafeel! team take on a Breast Cancer Now team, in a powerful sporting show of solidarity and support for those affected by breast cancer. Doors open at 3:00pm, with face-off at 3:30pm. See https://fb.me/e/3Xf5DIukB

The match will feature a roster of well-known names from British ice hockey, including former Nottingham Panthers players David Clarke and Marc Levers, and former Sheffield Steeler Ben Bliss, alongside guest players and local figures

A Community Event Built on Real-Life Inspiration

The event is inspired by the story of Rebecca Combellack, a mum-of-two who was diagnosed with breast cancer in May 2025 and has since been undergoing intensive treatment. Rebecca and her husband Richard have turned their experience into a fundraising and awareness mission — pushing for earlier checks, better awareness, and greater support for families impacted by the disease

“Bex’s Battle” aims not only to raise money, but also to encourage conversation and action around early detection, the realities of treatment, and the long-term impact of breast cancer on health and family life.

Under-11s Go Free — Schools Promo Code Offer

To help make the event accessible to as many families as possible, all children aged under 11 can attend for free using a special promo code being distributed to every primary school across Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire.

However, use ‘nottinghamsportreader080126’ against Primary Age Tickets if you haven’t been issued one!

Tickets / Entry

Instead of a fixed ticket price, organisers are asking for a suggested donation on entry, with spectators able to choose whether their donation supports Coppafeel! or Breast Cancer Now http://bit.ly/48QdMz0

  • 50/50 raffle
  • Prize draws
  • Signed memorabilia giveaways, including items such as a signed Panthers shirt and an Ollie Betteridge stick
