Rock City is celebrating being named as Best Live Entertainment Venue in Nottingham at the Best Bar None awards for its ability to provide a safe night out.
Best Bar None is a national initiative supported by the Home Office and drinks industry that aims to improve standards in the evening and night-time economy. Nottingham BID has operated the scheme in the city since 2010
To achieve Best Bar None status, venues have to demonstrate they are safe, responsible and well-operated – including the Safe Space Pledge to improve the safety of women and girls within their premises.
Rock City was secretly visited before going through an independent judging panel consisting of licensing professionals who chose the DHP Family venue as the winner in a ceremony at the Albert Hall on 25 October
Adam Wood, Rock City, said:
“We’re overjoyed to get this award as it shows all our teamwork and hard work doesn’t go unnoticed. It’s been a very turbulent few years in the hospitality sector, so to get through it and get back to winning awards feels great!”

“Our Best Bar None awards rightfully acknowledge all the effort and hard work that venues like Rock City put into achieving high operational standards.
“Best Bar None, a national scheme which Nottingham BID assess venues for on an annual basis, also provides us with opportunities to share positive messages about Nottingham.
“That venues like Rock City work with us and take a great deal of responsibility for providing safe a night out, demonstrates the quality of Nottingham’s night-time offer. We know that this in turn encourages more residents and visitors to socialise in and enjoy our city centre.”
