Lollipoppet Castle at Sundown Adventureland

The last of May’s special Services Weekends at Sundown Adventureland, near Retford, is taking place this weekend to celebrate some of the country’s most valued professions.

On Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st May, guests in certain roles can buy tickets to the Nottinghamshire theme park for over half price, at £10.

The discounted tickets apply to anyone working in the police, NHS, fire and rescue, RNLI and other blue light professions.

Shaun Malvern, director at Sundown Adventureland, said:

“So many of our regular visitors and members of the local community are dedicated service individuals, so this year we wanted to offer them discounted tickets as a special thank you.”

The long-established park is encouraging its guests to spend quality time together and enjoy everything the much-loved attraction has to offer, including all the firm favourites – Jolly Pirate Boat Ride, Giddy Piggies, Rocky Mountain Railroad and indoor play area and café Crash Landings, where families can treat their hard-working loved ones, to a tasty breakfast or a hearty lunch of pub classics, sandwiches and snacks to fuel them for all the fun.

At The Four Seasons Arena, guests can enjoy homemade packed lunches or have a long-awaited sit down after a busy morning or afternoon exploring. They can also meet their favourite Sundown characters throughout the day.

“Especially at a time when everyone is counting the pennies and is more conscious of their spending, we hope it provides families and friends with the opportunity to create new memories and have a great day out whilst saving some money too,”

added Shaun.

Sundown Adventureland’s Services Weekends offer is valid across Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st May and the park is open from 10am to 5pm. To book tickets: please visit

Tickets are £22 for adults or children over 90cm, with children under 90cm going free.
