Unwind, uncork and unleash your inner artist at Splash Art Republic!
Adding a new activity to their existing splash and pour art sessions, Splash Art Republic are thrilled to announce the launch date for their very first Sip & Paint event which will take place on Friday 23rd May at 7.00pm
To lead this very special session, the venue is collaborating with renowned Nottingham artist, Pete Spowage, who has been working professionally in the city for over 27 years. Pete’s artwork will be familiar to many a Nottingham dweller who may have passed the through easel-lined Byard Lane, off Bridlesmith Gate. His Gallery had been based there since 1998 but, due to pressures related to the Broad Marsh closure, you’ll now find his shop, gallery and studio, up the hill from Splash Art Republic on Mansfield Road.
Budding Artists will be creating their very own version of Pete’s “Melting Heart” or other “melting shapes” which are stunning abstracts using high-quality acrylic on canvas. Hosted by Splash Art Republic in their newly restored creative space “The Fothergill Studio”, originally
designed by master architect Watson Fothergill himself, they are welcoming guests of all skill levels. Pete will be guiding participants through the creative process with his unique and fun approach, demonstrating techniques and supporting you to produce an impressive artwork that you would be genuinely proud to display in your home.
What’s more, the event will be BYOB (bring your own booze) so you can keep the cost down and enjoy your favourite tipple. This is a unique opportunity to work with Pete and the session has extremely limited capacity.
