Nottingham City Transport Celebrates Colleagues’ Shortlisting at UK Bus Awards 2025

Nottingham City Transport (NCT) is thrilled to celebrate the shortlisting of two of its colleagues in the UK Bus Awards 2025, the same awards in which NCT was named UK Bus Operator of the Year for a record-breaking sixth time in 2024.

Zohra Rani has been nominated for Top National Bus Driver, awarded to the driver who demonstrates exceptional customer service, professionalism, and a commitment to passenger safety and comfort. Since joining NCT in 2018, Zohra has become the company’s most commended driver, was named Driver of the Year at NCT’s Excellence Awards 2025, and achieved a 92% score in mystery traveller assessments. Her consistently excellent service and dedication to passengers set the standard for NCT drivers.

Daniel Sanderson has been shortlisted for the Unsung Hero award, which recognises individuals in supervisory or junior management roles who demonstrate hard work, loyalty, and dedication — keeping the wheels turning against all odds. As an Engineering Shift Supervisor, Daniel leads evening and night shifts when the depot is at its busiest. A qualified First Aider and Mental Health First Aider, Danny is known for his calm, supportive nature and willingness to help colleagues. His reliability, professionalism, and compassion make him a true unsung hero within the NCT team.

David Astill, NCT Managing Director said, “Congratulations to Zohra and Danny on their shortlisting for the 2025 UK Bus Awards. Buses are all about moving people and NCT is very lucky to employ great people like Zohra and Danny, who represent our frontline team of drivers who interact with customers on a daily basis and those who work behind the scenes ensuring buses are maintained and prepared for service every day”

The winners of the UK Bus Awards will be announced at a presentation ceremony at Troxy in London on Tuesday 25th November 2025, celebrating the people and operators driving excellence across the UK bus industry.
