E.ON has been announced as a headline partner of FUTUREPROOF Nottingham, the flagship forum focused on the future of sustainability and green growth.
FUTUREPROOF Nottingham brings together leaders from business, local and national government, academia and the private sector to explore how ambition can be turned into practical action across energy, skills, infrastructure and finance.
E.ON’s partnership reflects its commitment to accelerating the energy transition in a way that delivers tangible benefits for people and businesses. It also supports FUTUREPROOF’s aim to create clarity around complex sustainability challenges, connect ideas to investment and enable organisations to deliver real-world change.
The partnership will be brought to life through senior representation across the FUTUREPROOF’s dynamic agenda, including:
- Scott Somerville, Director of External Affairs – Welcome Address
- Phil McDermott, New Cities Partnership Lead – Green Innovations Panel
- Sally Lane, Head of People Development – Green Skills Panel
Their contribution will provide insight on energy innovation, place-based collaboration and workforce development, reinforcing E.ON’s role in delivering a fair, inclusive and practical energy transition.
Over 360 of the FUTUREPROOF delegates, who have already registered for the event, will also be able to speak to the E.ON’s team at a dedicated stand.
Commenting on the partnership, Vijay Tank, Chief Commercial Officer at E.ON, said:
“The energy transition is a way to regenerate local economies – taking strong action to make sure new energy works for everyone by combining access to innovative solutions and unlocking real, everyday benefits. Ultimately it means lower bills, simpler choices and outcomes that people can feel directly in their homes and communities.
Nottingham has a clear ambition to lead on clean energy and inclusive growth and we see the city as a natural partner to collaborate on energy, skills and innovation; unlocking investment, creating local jobs and building a more resilient, sustainable Nottingham.
Partnering with Futureproof Nottingham reflects our commitment to working in and with the city to turn ambition into action.”
Megan Powell Vreeswijk, CEO of Marketing Nottingham and Nottinghamshire the organisers of FUTUREPROOF, said:
“We are delighted to have E.ON as the headline partner of FUTUREPROOF, reinforcing strategic direction of the forum and its ambition to lead the way in local, regional and national sustainability conversations.
FUTUREPROOF provides an important platform for discussion and practical delivery and E.ON’s involvement strengthens those conversations and supports our shared focus on turning ambition into tangible outcomes and support for local businesses.”
