Party in the Square has become a much-loved fixture in Retford’s events calendar.
RETFORD Market Square will come alive this August bank holiday Sunday as Party in the Square returns for an afternoon of free live music, entertainment and family fun.
Taking place on Sunday 30 August from 2pm to 7.30pm, the popular North Notts BID event will bring a packed programme of tribute performances to the heart of Retford, with visitors invited to bring their picnic blankets, deck chairs and dancing shoes for an afternoon of entertainment.
Funk and disco band Le Freak will be this year’s headline act, closing the event from 6.30pm with a celebration of Chic and Nile Rodgers’ biggest hits. They will be preceded by a host of talented tribute performers bringing the sounds of K-Pop Demon Hunters, Bruno Mars, Arctic Monkeys and Benson Boone to the stage, creating a packed afternoon of live music for visitors to enjoy.

“Party in the Square has become a much-loved fixture in Retford’s events calendar and we are delighted to be bringing it back for its seventh year, promising another fantastic afternoon of free entertainment for the community to enjoy.
“With a brilliant mix of live music, family fun and plenty happening across the town centre, it is the perfect way to spend the bank holiday Sunday. We encourage visitors to make a day of it by exploring everything Retford’s fantastic independent businesses have to offer.
“People are welcome to bring their own food and drink, but we would love visitors to support the brilliant local hospitality businesses that will be open throughout the day, many with extended opening hours and special themed food and drink offerings.”
The Bull & Lobster will provide the outdoor bar for the event, while visitors can also enjoy food from BEDDA Italian Streetfood, Burger Grill, Hello Sweetie and Treatyourself by JC. Cloud 9 Face Painting will also be on hand to provide family entertainment throughout the afternoon.
