Rushcliffe Borough Council has launched a new tourism campaign, Great Places for Great Days, designed to showcase the very best of the Borough and encourage more people to discover everything the area has to offer.
The new social media campaign celebrates Rushcliffe as a destination for memorable days out, highlighting its diverse mix of award-winning food and drink, thriving town and village centres, internationally recognised sporting venues, rich heritage and beautiful green spaces. Running throughout 2026 and 2027, the initiative aims to attract more visitors, support local businesses and strengthen Rushcliffe’s contribution to Nottinghamshire’s thriving visitor economy.
Rushcliffe is already a key part of Nottinghamshire’s visitor offer, with the county welcoming almost 35 million visitors each year and generating more than £2.5 billion for the local economy. The campaign will further position the Borough as one of the East Midlands’ leading destinations for leisure, culture, sport and hospitality.
Rushcliffe Borough Council’s Deputy Leader and Cabinet Portfolio Holder for Business and Growth, Cllr Abby Brennan, said:
“Rushcliffe is packed with great places to discover, from world-class sporting venues and beautiful green spaces to thriving town centres, independent businesses and hidden gems.
Our Great Places for Great Days campaign brings all of that together under one banner, making it easier than ever for residents and visitors to explore everything our Borough has to offer.
This campaign is about celebrating what makes Rushcliffe special while supporting the businesses and communities that help our Borough thrive. By encouraging more people to spend time here, we can boost our visitor economy, support local jobs and showcase Rushcliffe as one of the region’s best destinations for a great day out.
Make sure you follow our new social media accounts and start discovering all the amazing places to explore this summer holiday!”
Developed with support from local businesses, community organisations and partners, the campaign shines a spotlight on the breadth of experiences available across the Borough. From independent cafés, shops and local events to museums, country parks and iconic sporting venues such as Trent Bridge, Great Places for Great Days will inspire residents and visitors alike to explore more of Rushcliffe.
Chris Lees, owner of Number 16 café bistro in Bingham, welcomed the initiative, saying:
“People want to move to Rushcliffe, and people want to visit Rushcliffe and one of the reasons for that is its excellent quality of life.
Great Places for Great Days is fantastic because it showcases a key part of that lifestyle offer – all the attractions, cafés, independent shops and green spaces that make communities like Bingham what they are. There are so many hidden gems here.
There is something for everyone in Rushcliffe, whether they’re younger people, families, retired people or people coming from outside the Borough. It’s a brilliant idea and it’s helping support local business and the local economy.”
Funded through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund and supporting the ambitions of Rushcliffe Borough Council’s Economic Growth Strategy, the campaign will create a recognisable identity for promoting the Borough while encouraging repeat visits throughout the year.
Through engaging photography, video content and dedicated social media channels, Great Places for Great Days will showcase themed experiences across food and drink, sport, heritage, nature and Rushcliffe’s welcoming town and village centres.
Visitors can follow the campaign on Instagram and on Facebook.
