The Harley Foundation and The School of Artisan Food invite 11–16-year-olds in Worksop and surrounding areas to swap scrolling for a day packed with cooking and creativity this October half-term. Free places are available for those eligible for Free School Meals; all other tickets are £35.
Running on Wednesdays and Thursdays during the October half-term, the Cook + Create Holiday Club offers an engaging programme from 9.30am to 3pm. Cook your favourite fakeaways in the professional kitchens at the School of Artisan Food before taking part in creative activities with the Harley Gallery team in the afternoon.
Cook + Create Timetable
The Club begins with a practical cooking session led by the School of Artisan Food’s Food Educators in their professional kitchens. Participants will create fresh, delicious versions of favourite takeaway dishes while developing their cooking skills and techniques. At lunchtime, everyone enjoys the ‘fakeaway’ they’ve made together.
A short lunchtime walk includes a stroll through the countryside of the Welbeck Estate, and offers a chance to get to know other young people taking part.
The afternoon features a creative workshop led by professional artists. Workshops will include varied activities each day, from making Halloween costumes and accessories to building a crazy golf course from recycled materials.

“We’re delighted to be partnering with the School of Artisan Food to deliver these sessions, bringing together food and art. These sessions have been shaped by young people and offer a chance for young people to step away from screens, get hands-on in the kitchen, and try out new creative projects, all in a relaxed and fun environment.”
All food and materials are provided. Participants should bring a water bottle and dress appropriately for a short outdoor walk. Please note that the School of Artisan Food is unable to guarantee an allergen-free environment, including for gluten, nuts and other allergens, so the programme is not suitable for those with severe allergies or coeliac disease.
Participants should be dropped off at the School of Artisan Food and picked up from the Harley Gallery. The site is easily reached by car, with a large free car park, or by bus and train. You can find out full travel information here.
