Junior Reds Welcomed to the City Ground for Exclusive First Team Training and Signing Session

Nottingham Forest welcomed 50 Junior Reds and their families to the City Ground on Tuesday for an exclusive opportunity to watch first team training and meet the players and coaching staff.

As part of the Club’s commitment to providing supporters with safe and dedicated opportunities to meet their heroes, Head Coach Oliver Glasner and his staff opted to move a training session to the City Ground during half-term for a special event targeted at the next generation of Forest fans.

Almost 200 people were in attendance, with each of the 50 randomly selected Junior Reds receiving four tickets so they could bring parents, siblings, and friends along with them.

The fans watched training from the Peter Taylor Stand for around 90 minutes before heading pitchside to meet Oliver Glasner and the full first team squad, who spent time signing autographs and taking photographs with each special guest.

Our Dementia Choir, who were conducting their regular rehearsals at the City Ground at the same time, also briefly joined the session to serenade the players with a rendition of Mull of Kintyre as they trained.

Nottingham Forest’s Head of Fan Engagement, Will D’Hooghe, said:

“The bond between our players and the fans is so important and we wanted to do something special for our younger supporters during half-term. I remember receiving my first autograph and these are the kind of memories that last forever. We’re passionate about inspiring the next generation of Forest fans, and we will look to arrange more events like this over the coming months.”

The Club continues to encourage fans not to gather outside the Nigel Doughty Academy in search of autographs, due to safety concerns and the disruption caused to local residents. More events will be organised throughout the season to give as many supporters as possible the opportunity to meet players in a safe and suitable environment.
