Sundown Adventureland, the theme park for the under 10s in Retford, is giving away special Golden Tickets every day during its Christmas Spectacular, which provides children with free access to the award-winning park on selected days in 2026.
Adding an extra dose of Christmas cheer for its visitors, the voucher saves families up to £24 per child, with return visits valid between 14th February and 27th March 2026 once the park reopens after its winter break and maintenance period.
The Sundown team simply requires families to purchase the remaining tickets on the door when they visit, bringing the golden ticket with them on their chosen date next year.
Shaun Malvern, who is a director at Sundown Adventureland, said of the festive treat: “One of the wonderful things about our park is the fact that there’s so much to do in one trip. It leaves guests blown away with the variety of activities, but also desperate to come back and finish the park or return to their favourites again.
“The Golden Ticket is our opportunity to say thank you for the support during our Christmas Spectacular and acknowledge the loyalty our biggest fans always show us, by easing the cost of a 2026 visit.”
Currently in the middle of its 16th year in operation, Sundown’s Christmas Spectacular is one of the most popular festive events in the area, with the attraction transforming into a mesmerising winter wonderland, complete with picturesque snowy scenes, piles of presents and elaborate Christmas trees with colourful baubles, nutcrackers and plenty of twinkling lights.
Taking place until 24th December, excited guests travel via the unique ‘The Night Before Christmas Ride’ which captures a winter wonderland, before arriving at Santa’s cosy woodland grotto. Little ones can chat with Santa and Mrs Claus, reveal all their hearts’ desires and unwrap a present given to them by the mischievous elves, whilst enjoying hot chocolates with plenty of delicious toppings.
At the Four Seasons Arena, guests can watch live performances from popular entertainers and ventriloquists ‘Andy and Lewis’, and enjoy dancing sessions in fake snow with Sundown’s mascots Honey and Sunny Bear before heading out to explore the rest of the rides, attractions and play areas, including imaginative play at Storybook Village, Market Square and Toy Town.
For the thrill seekers, hop aboard Robin Hood’s Merry Adventure to meet merry friends and uncover surprises at every corner, or travel through the mountains and outback on Rocky Mountain Railroad. The car enthusiasts can show off their skills in the mini jungle-themed monster trucks at Monkey Mayhem Driving School, whilst Crash Landings and Rodeo Corral are epic indoor soft plays perfect for sheltering from wintery weather.
Both indoor locations also serve warming lunches, refreshments and festive sweet treats to fuel families’ busy day out.
“Sundown prides itself on having a welcoming range of facilities and whilst guests are outside in the fresh air on the rides, the entrance areas are well covered and the indoor areas also provide some relief from any rain or chilly winds. We love seeing families embrace the winter and in turn the festive season, and we’ll be delighted to welcome everybody back in February and March as we look towards spring,” added Debs Griffin, also director at Sundown.
Tickets for the Christmas Spectacular start from £20 for adults and from £24 for children, with discounts available for the over 65s and disabled guests.
The Golden Tickets are valid for free entry between 14th February and 27th March 2026.
