FUTUREPROOF, the UK’s emerging forum for regeneration, sustainability and economic transformation is returning to Nottingham’s Broadway Cinema on Wednesday 24 February 2027 following the success of its inaugural event.
Organisers have also officially opened the call for session proposals, inviting businesses, academics, policymakers and industry experts from across the UK to help shape the 2027 programme.
Building on the momentum of FUTUREPROOF 2026, which welcomed more than 370 delegates, 70 expert speakers and delivered 45 sessions across seven key themes, the 2027 event will bring together national and regional leaders to explore the opportunities and challenges shaping the future of places, economies and communities.
Organisations and individuals are encouraged to submit proposals for presentations, panel discussions, workshops, interactive discussions and other innovative session formats. The organisers are particularly seeking practical case studies, pioneering projects, emerging research and collaborative approaches that can inspire action and contribute to meaningful conversations around economic transformation and sustainable growth.
Megan Powell Vreeswijk, CEO of Marketing Nottingham and Nottinghamshire, said:
“FUTUREPROOF was created to bring together the people, ideas and organisations shaping the future of our places and economies. The response to our inaugural event demonstrated the need for a forum that moves beyond conversation to inspire innovation and practical action.
As we look ahead to 2027, our ambition is to establish FUTUREPROOF as a nationally recognised platform for regeneration, sustainability and economic transformation. Nottingham is a city built on innovation and partnership, making it the ideal place to convene businesses, policymakers, academics and industry leaders to share ideas, challenge thinking and help shape a more resilient future.
We welcome session submissions that showcase bold ideas, practical solutions and collaborative approaches capable of driving meaningful change.”
FUTUREPROOF is delivered by Marketing Nottingham and Nottinghamshire in partnership with organisations across the public, private and academic sectors, reinforcing Nottingham’s position as a leading destination for innovation, investment, business events and sustainable economic growth.
The inaugural event attracted support from organisations including E.ON, Nottingham College, University of Nottingham, Nottingham Trent University, STEP Fusion, Waterman, LJM Solutions, Experian, ARUP, Nottingham City Council, East Midlands Airport and many others, demonstrating the strength of collaboration across the region.
Session proposals are open, with further details on keynote speakers, sponsorship opportunities and delegate registration to be announced in the coming months.
