Radfest Returns on 27 June – Come and Support the Next Generation of Local Talent

Radfest returns to Radcliffe-on-Trent on Saturday 27 June, bringing together live music, great food, family entertainment and, most importantly, a stage for young performers who deserve to be seen and heard.

Now in its ninth year, Radfest was set up to give local musicians and performers a chance to perform in front of a real audience, build confidence and gain experience. That feels more important than ever.

Across the UK, grassroots music venues are closing and opportunities for young artists are becoming harder to find. Many talented young people simply don’t get the chance to perform, learn their craft or build a following. Radfest exists to change that.

The festival showcases a mix of established local acts alongside emerging performers, many of whom are taking some of their first steps onto a festival stage.

Festival organiser Debra Easter said:

“Every year I’m blown away by the talent we have on our doorstep. Young people need opportunities to perform, learn their craft and build confidence, but those opportunities are becoming harder to find.

“Radfest is about giving them that opportunity and bringing the community together to support local talent. If you’ve never been before, this is the year to come and see what it’s all about. Bring your friends, bring your family, enjoy a fantastic day out and help us celebrate the next generation of performers.”

As well as providing performance opportunities, Radfest also gives young people valuable behind-the-scenes experience. Many of the performers are current or former students from Nottingham Trent University and Confetti, while Confetti FE students play a key role in running the stage on the day, gaining real-world event and production experience in front of a live festival audience.

Visitors can enjoy a packed programme of live music, food and drink stalls, family activities, a silent disco and plenty of opportunities to discover new artists before they hit the bigger stages.

The festival is run entirely by volunteers and is deliberately kept low cost to ensure it remains accessible to local families and the wider community.

Whether you’re a music lover, looking for a great family day out or simply want to support something positive in your local community, Radfest has something for everyone.

Come along on Saturday 27 June. Fill the field. Discover some new talent. Support young performers and help keep grassroots music alive.
