Film fans can run (don’t walk) to Broadway Cinema’s first ever Robin Hood
Movie Marathon on Saturday 28 September and support the local charity by
doing so!
To mark Nottingham’s annual Half and Mini Marathon event, Broadway Cinema are
hosting a day-long celebration of legendary local hero, Robin Hood, featuring some
of his most iconic cinematic adventures back on the big screen.
The day starts with the colourful Disney’s classic Robin Hood, then revisits the Mel
Brooks comedy spoof Men in Tights, goes back in time for a rare screening of Errol
Flynn’s swashbuckler The Adventures of Robin Hood, and ends the day with Kevin
Costner’s 90s box office smash Prince of Thieves – there’s something for everyone.
There will also be free family activities, including crafts, kid’s archery and a Bryan
Adam’s singalong for the final film of the day.
Emma Duncan, Broadway’s Events Development Coordinator, has been at the heart of creating some of the added extras that will make this a day to remember:
“What started as a bit of a joke in the office, has now become a whole day of tights
and arrows in our screens. We’re delighted to welcome Nottingham’s most famous
outlaw to our cinema and can’t wait to enjoy a day of fun.”
All films are priced as Pay What You Feel, with tickets starting from £2 and going all
the way up to £10. Ticket sales will be supporting Broadway as the famous
independent cinema in Hockley continues to face the challenge of rising costs and
reduced audiences post-pandemic.
Lucy Askew, CEO of Broadway Cinema, said:
“Not everyone will be able to run 13 miles at the actual half marathon on Sunday, but
we wanted to let Nottingham know that coming down and purchasing a ticket will be
giving back to a worthy charitable cause at the heart of the community.”
If you’re a tapering runner keen to rest up, or just love your film-going to have a long
runtime, Broadway Cinema encourage you to bring your merry band down along on
Saturday 28th September and enjoy the day.
