AWARD-WINNING Nottinghamshire charity Switch Up has announced the launch of its new podcast, Under The Hood – a powerful platform created to explore the real stories, challenges and experiences shaping communities across the county.
Hosted by Switch Up founder and CEO, Dr Marcellus Baz BEM, the podcast brings together a range of voices including celebrity patrons, professional athletes, community leaders and individuals with lived experience – creating a space where real conversations can take place.
The first episode – due to be released on Tuesday 19 May – will feature Switch Up patron and BAFTA-winning actress, Vicky McClure MBE, with further episodes to follow across all major platforms.
Through honest and unfiltered conversations, Under The Hood goes beyond headlines to uncover the realities of issues affecting the community, such as youth violence, mental health, inequality and social mobility.
Sharing more on the podcast, Marcellus Baz said:
“Under The Hood is about creating honest conversations that give people a real understanding of the challenges, experiences and stories shaping our communities across Nottinghamshire. At Switch Up, we believe powerful conversations can challenge perceptions, inspire hope and help create positive change for young people.
“Too often, communities like ours are spoken about through statistics, headlines and stereotypes, without hearing from the people living the reality every single day. Under The Hood is about changing that.”
Speaking about the podcast, Vicky McClure said:
“It’s a true honour to be the first guest on this very special podcast – but I can promise every episode is not to be missed. Great guests, important conversations and focusing on championing the next generation.”
Each episode offers a unique perspective, giving listeners insight into the challenges faced by young people today, as well as the positive pathways and opportunities that can help change lives.
Through this podcast, Switch Up aims to continue its mission of raising awareness, challenging perceptions and creating positive change for young people across Nottinghamshire.
