Pods on the wine estate for the new attraction

Wolds Wine Estate announces plans to create a leading English vineyard destination in South Nottinghamshire

Wolds Wine Estate announces that it has submitted a planning application to create a destination venue with cafe restaurant, artisanal shops, community room and new purpose built winery and cidery to sit alongside the existing luxury vineyard glamping pods. The plans submitted to Rushcliffe Borough Council will allow locals and visitors to the areas to enjoy the vineyard and orchard set in 11 acres of Nottinghamshire Wolds countryside.

The planning application seeks to replace old and worn stables in a sympathetic manner which protects and respects the local countryside. With high quality traditional wooden clad buildings and natural landscaping there will remain a true countryside feel. Wild flower meadows and further tree planting will help enhance the rural location and create new habitats for local wildlife. Ten additional local jobs will be created in the estate across various disciplines.

The cafe restaurant will benefit from views over the vineyard and will serve estate produced wine as well as ingredients from local producers. There will also be opportunity for alfresco dining by the orchard. The community room will provide a dedicated space for events and functions with the aim to have a number of regular classes and events for visitors and locals to enjoy such activities as wine tastings, yoga, educational classes and mindfulness retreats. Two small retail units will also be available for artisan shops.

Estate owner and founder Rob Kalisiak says:

“Our vision for Wolds Wine Estate is to create a leading English vineyard destination and experience. Our luxury glamping pods have been a huge success and we are now looking at ways we can encourage more people, whether local or from afar, to come and enjoy our wonderful part of the English countryside. These plans will enhance the experience for visitors to the Estate’s luxury glamping pods but also provide a unique and exciting venue for locals to visit and enjoy. We want Wolds Wine Estate to be a place for people, whether overnight guests or day visitors, to appreciate the English countryside, learn about viticulture, recharge from daily life and enjoy a glass of English wine alongside other local produce.”

Wolds Wine Estate aims to provide the space for families, friends and groups to getaway and enjoy a unique countryside experience. With areas to stay, shop, eat and learn, Wolds Wine Estate will become a multi-functional destination for all to enjoy. Special retreats for mindfulness, yoga and culinary experiences will also be more accessible with the vineyard and traditional orchard providing a scenic backdrop.
