Tickets are on sale now for Sundown Adventureland’s much-loved and award-winning Christmas Spectacular, with festive family fun returning from 14 November to 24 December 2026.
Sundown Adventureland, the award-winning family theme park for under-10s near Retford in Nottinghamshire, is getting ready to welcome families for its 17th Christmas Spectacular – an enchanting festive experience, which has been awarded Gold in the Best Christmas Event category at the 2026 UK Theme Park Awards, that has become an annual tradition for families across the region and beyond.
Throughout the Christmas Spectacular period, visitors can step into a magical winter wonderland filled with spectacular Christmas trees, thousands of twinkling lights, festive entertainment and, of course, a very special visit from Santa Claus himself.
For families yet to experience the magic, Sundown has a simple message: Christmas isn’t Christmas until you’ve experienced a Sundown Christmas.
The Christmas Spectacular includes a magical sleigh ride through an enchanted festive forest, transporting families to the ultimate destination of Santa’s Magical Grotto via the iconic ‘The Night Before Christmas Ride’.
After being welcomed by Santa’s elves, children will meet Mrs Claus before coming face-to-face with Santa himself. Every child can unwrap their own special gift and share their Christmas wishes, creating a memorable experience for the whole family.
For more Christmas fun, everyone can marvel at the beautifully decorated Four Seasons Arena, where families can watch and join in with live festive entertainment and dancing characters throughout the day.*
The magical adventure continues across Sundown’s 50 acres of family fun, with unlimited access to rides, attractions and play areas included with admission. Young visitors can burn off some pre-Christmas energy in Sundown’s biggest indoor play area, featuring four storeys of jungle-themed fun, take to the wheel of a mini trucks car at Monkey Mayhem Driving School and or hop aboard Santa’s Sleigh Ride.
Debs Griffin, director at Sundown Adventureland alongside her brother Shaun, said:
“Christmas at Sundown is our biggest event of the year and our whole team comes together as one big family to deliver a festive experience like no other.
“It’s become a tradition for many families, treating themselves as they start the countdown to the big day itself. New and returning families are always guaranteed a hearty festive Sundown welcome, and will leave with a warm, fuzzy feeling and a sleigh full of special memories.”
Sundown Adventureland was created by Shaun and Debs’ grandparents in the 1960s, and the family has continued to develop and run the park, retaining its focus on creating fun, nostalgic and welcoming experiences for those with young children, whilst also creating a Christmas tradition built around families.
No Christmas countdown is complete without festive food, and the Cookie Cabin café will be serving a selection of hot and tasty treats, including hot dogs, nachos, pizza, crepes, hot chocolates, festive mince pieces and other sweet treats.
Families wanting to turn their Christmas adventure into a festive getaway can also stay at Sundown’s on-site accommodation, Wild Acre Village, which is open throughout the festive period.
The lodges offer flexible arrival and stay options, with king-size beds for adults and bunk beds for children. Interconnecting doors are available for larger groups of up to 10 and many cabins feature private hot tubs – perfect for warming up after a busy day exploring the park. Park entry is included throughout the stay at no extra cost.
The Christmas Spectacular runs from 14 November until 24 December 2026. Tickets must be booked online, with prices ranging from £20.95 to £27.95 for adults and £23.95 to £31.90 for children over 90cm, including a gift for each child. Children under 90cm are £5.95, including a gift, with discounts available for disabled guests, seniors and carers.
