Flower at the Harley Gallery

Find something for the family at the Harley Foundation this Spring

If you’re looking for a fun activity to do with the kids – or grandchildren – this Spring then the Harley Foundation near Worksop have you covered.

This arts charity runs the award-winning Harley Gallery and Museum on the historic Welbeck estate. They also run a busy programme of events and activities to give everyone opportunities to get creative.

Upcoming events for families include:

Make a Flower Garden

Free drop-in. All ages.

Tuesday – Sunday until 18 June.

This community art project invites everyone to make a paper flower to add to a garden installation (or to take home). Visitors can drop into the Harley Gallery Tuesday – Sunday until 18 June and take part in this free activity – no booking (or tidying up) required.

Bank Holiday Weekend Family Workshops

£7 per child, booked event. Ages 5+

Saturday 29 April, 1.30pm – 3.30pm

The kids can enjoy a couple of hours getting creative with this coronation themed craft workshop. This workshop is led by the Harley’s Education Team, so you can leave the kids to get stuck in making tiaras, crowns and robes – or stay with your children and join in the fun!

Children’s Pottery Workshop – Clay Creatures

£10 per child, booked event. Ages 5-11

Thursday 1 June, 1.30pm – 4pm

Bring the kids to the Harley Foundation’s specialist Pottery Studio and get ready to get messy! This workshop will teach children the basics of pottery as they make their own clay creatures. A workshop for children to enjoy with their Parent / Guardian.

Beginners Clay Workshop

£10 per person, booked event. Ages 11-16

Friday 2 June, 10am – 12.30pm

A session for older children and young adults in our specialist pottery studio. All materials are included, and your creations will be fired in our pottery kiln. Great for students taking Art GSCE, or anyone inspired by the Pottery Throw Down.

Families can also enjoy free entry exhibitions in the Harley Gallery and Museum, including a children’s trail in the Museum, as well as a countryside art walk. There’s also a very nice café, farm shop and garden centre next door at Welbeck.

– The Harley Foundation’s Gallery and Museum is open Tuesday – Sunday. Please check www.harleyfoundation.org.uk for opening times.

– The Harley Foundation is on the Welbeck estate, on the A60 south of Worksop. It is 15 minutes from both the A1 and M1 and has a large, free car park.
